Care & Use of Your Stellar Cookware

Stellar and Judge is the choice of the professional and as such is made to the highest of standards.

Manufactured from premium grade 18/10 Stainless Steel (18% chrome and 10% nickel) for optimum hardness and stain resistance.

Before Use:

Remove all Labels, wash in hot soapy water, rinse and dry.

Condition non-stick surfaces with a little cooking oil and then wipe with kitchen paper.

Stellar Lamina Copper Pans have a food safe factory coating applied to prevent the Copper from tarnishing whilst in transit. To remove this, gently heat some water in the pan - the coating will appear to become cloudy, and then disappear. Thereafter the pans will assume the normal Copper 'antiqued' patina during use. The bright Copper appearance can be restored by the use of Stellar Copper Cleaner.

Cooking:

Do not heat an empty pan. Use moderate to low heat and do not allow the pan to boil dry. If a pan had boiled dry, do not remove from the hob until it has fully cooled. Do not pour cold water into a hot pan, as this may cause some warping.

Excessive heat will spoil the appearance of the Stellar or Judge pan causing tinting of the surface. Similarly, when cooking starch food for the first time a tinge may be imparted to the cooking surface. Neither the food nor the pan will have been harmed, and the bloom can be permanently removed using a Stellar Stainless Steel Cleaner.

Reduce the heat further as soon as the boiling point is reached - the excellent heat retaining properties of the Stellar and Judge pans make them very economical to use.

Never add salt to a pan of cold water as this can cause white marks or pitting.

If your Stellar or Judge cookware has black handles and lid fittings these are oven safe to 220 degrees centigrade.

If your Stellar or Judge cookware has a non-stick coating we do not recommend that you cut food in the pan or use metal utensils. Use wooden or nylon utensils. Please regulate the temperature carefully as excessively high temperatures can discolour the surface coating.

If your Stellar or Judge cookware has glass lids please be aware that they have been specifically designed to be as safe as possible, however, under certain circumstances glass can break. Avoid placing lids directly on a hotplate as this can reduce their resistance to breakage. If you should be unfortunate enough to break one or notice any cracking, please contact us for a replacement.

Never leave a pan unattended on a hob.

Always use oven gloves or similar when moving hot pans around the hob or oven.

Cleaning Your Stellar and Judge Cookware:

Soak pan for a few minutes before washing. Any food deposits can be removed using a nylon brush pan scourer or brush.

Wash pan in hot, soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly.

Stellar and Judge Cookware is dishwasher safe.

To recover the original brightness and to remove stubborn marks, occasionally use Stellar Stainless Steel Cleaner.

Stellar Lamina Copper Pans acquire an antique 'patina' in use: the bright finish can be restored by treatment with Stellar Copper Cleaner.
