We are holding a Weekend Spectacular at our store in Sturminster Newton on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September. To coincide with the Sturminster Newton Cheese Festival, we have put together a fantastic range of ‘weekend only’ offers plus some fantastic in-store demonstrations by KitchenAid, GreenPan and Judge Electricals. There will be offers available in most departments throughout the store including 20% off new season clothing from brands including Joules, Seasalt, Braintree, Hatley and Lazy Jacks.

The Weekend Spectacular isn’t just about the offers. Over both the days there will be demonstrations from leading brands including KitchenAid, GreenPan and Judge Electricals. The experts will be showing how to get the best out of their products. They will also be on hand to answer any questions you have. It’s a great way to try before you buy (plus you get to taste the end results!) You will get to see the iconic KitchenAid Artisan Mixer in action. Some of the many mixer attachments will also be on display. GreenPan will be showing off just how good their ceramic non-stick frypans really are. You really have to see them in action to believe it. Demonstrating the best of Judge Electricals will be Mal Harradine. Mal has had an illustrious career with over 20 years of TV work (QVC, Ideal World etc). Nowadays he concentrates on product demonstrating and testing. It’s been a few years since he’s been down to our shop, but he always loves making the trip down to the West Country. Always entertaining, and never short of a good story, Mal will be showcasing the Deep Pie Maker amongst other handy electrical gadgets to make your life easier in the kitchen.

Open Saturday AND Sunday

We will be open for the Weekend Spectacular between 8am and 4.30pm on the Saturday and 10am to 4pm on the Sunday. If you are attending the Cheese Festival over the weekend, make sure you plan in some time to pay us a visit. We are easy to find. Just follow Station Road down past the Exchange and you will find us on the left just beyond the traffic lights.

Weekend Spectacular Mousetrap TheatreCheese Festival and Mouse Trap Theatre

Following on from last year’s inaugural running of the Mouse Trap Food Theatre we are back up at the Cheese Festival again with a bigger and better line-up that features some of the area’s top chefs and food producers. We are following the same pattern as last year for each hour long demonstration. A quick quiz to warm the crowd up offers you the chance to win a spot prize. This is then followed by the demonstrator. At the end of each show two members of the audience will have the opportunity to battle it out against each other and the demonstrator to make the fastest two-egg omelette. I know this might not be an original idea, but it is thoroughly entertaining and exciting especially when the crowd start getting behind their favourite competitor. Each contestant gets to keep their pan (it’s OK, we’ll clean it for them first!) and the person who records the fastest time over the weekend will win a range of Venice Hard Anodised Cookware courtesy of the Omelette Challenge sponsors GreenPan.

The full line-up for the food theatre is as follows:
