RECIPE: Beet the Blues

INGREDIENTS

250g blueberries 

250g (approx 2) medium pears, quartered and cored 

100g (approx 5) ice cubes 

45g (approx ½) peeled lemon 

300g (approx 2) courgette, top removed 

220g (approx 2) medium beetroots, stalk trimmed

STEP ONE: Add blueberries, pears and ice cubes into the blender jug and attach to the juicer spout. 

STEP TWO: Turn variable speed dial to Speed 1 and juice lemon. 

STEP THREE: Increase to speed 6 and juice courgette. 

STEP FOUR: Increase to speed 10 and juice beetroots. 

STEP FIVE: Remove juicer attachment and place blender jug onto motor base. Close the lid securely. 

STEP SIX: Select Green Smoothie Program. Serve immediately.

RECIPE: Tropical Breakfast Bowl

INGREDIENTS

2 x peeled and seeded medium oranges

1 tsp finely grated lime zest

¼ tsp ground cardamom

1 x frozen medium sliced banana

2 tbsp goji berries

160g diced fresh pineapple, papaya or 1 sliced banana

2 tbsp shelled hemp seeds

120ml full fat canned coconut milk

1 tbsp melted coconut oil

1 ½ tbsp fresh lime juice

320g frozen mango

30g frozen raw cauliflower

1 tsp probiotic powder (2 x capsules broken open)

15g coconut flakes

STEP ONE: Throw the coconut milk, oranges, coconut oil, lime zest, lime juice, cardamom, and goji berries, frozen cauliflower, and probiotic powder (if using) into your KitchenAid Artisan K400 Blender blender container, secure the lid, and blast on high for about 30 seconds, until the mixture is completely pulverized and smooth.

STEP TWO: Scrape down the sides of the blender container with the flex edge of the tamper. Add the frozen mango and banana, secure the lid, remove the centre lid cap, and insert the tamper.

STEP THREE: Holding the tamper in place with a firm grip, process at variable speed 11 for 20 to 30 seconds, using the tamper to guide the fruit through the blades until smooth, but still frozen. (It should be a thick consistency like frozen sorbet).

STEP FOUR: Using the flex-edge spatula, guide the frozen mixture evenly into two breakfast bowls, and top with sliced fruit, shaved coconut, and hemp seeds. Enjoy immediately.
