CamelBack was born in 1989 out of mankind's most basic of needs - water. The man responsible was cycling enthusiast Michael Eidson. A medical technician by trade, Eidson was competing in the Hotter'N Hell 100 - a gruelling 100 mile road race in Texas where there were few places to replenish water bottles.
He decided to put some of his day to day work items to good use - filling an IV bag with water and stuffing it into a tube sock. This 'bladder' went into the back of his cycling jersey with the thin tube reaching over his shoulder clamped in place by a clothespin. This was the first incarnation of hands-free hydration.
Since then CamelBak have evolved into one of the world's leading makers of hydrations solutions - including this fantastic range of water bottles and accessories.
