On a holiday to the area in 1981, Don Chadwick went into a store in Penzance called General Clothing Stores to buy some waterproofs and ended up buying the shop. Before long the family had moved down from the Midlands and were running the business which sold workwear, including clothing to sailors, farmers and fishermen. When Don passed away in 2001, the three brothers created the Seasalt clothing brand, making their own clothing inspired by the local area and championing the aspects and designs that the Chadwick brothers love about the region.
