For parents with young children, safety in the kitchen is paramount especially concerning sharp knives. Many people store them away in a drawer, but the drawer needs to be secured and blades can be easily damaged. LockBlock from Joseph Joseph, however provides a perfect solution. The innovative design locks knives safely inside the block requiring an adult-sized hand to operate it, meaning most children aged five and under will be unable to remove the knife.

As a knife is placed inside the slot of the Joseph Joseph LockBlock, its blade is held securely by a unique child safe Cam-lockT mechanism. Pulling on the knife increases the force of the grip so knives cannot be simply forced out of the block.

To remove a knife the release button, situated on both sides for left or right-handed operation, needs to be firmly pressed. Due to its position and the force required to press it, only someone with an adult-sized hand can do this. The mechanism inside won't damage expensive knives as it has a smooth rubber surface.
