I bought an Arthur Price 'Bead' design table fork from Harts of Stur...just the one. The old one disappeared into the Compost Heap of Doom or the Black Wheelie Bin of Landfill...or somesuch...who knows? Not me! The table fork is lovely...but a few millimetres bigger than the old one. I clearly had not banked on the old ones having worn down with extended use perhaps? But then I noticed that the 'bead' design had also subtly changed! Not a lot but a bit...which leaves us with some interesting philosphical questions.. HOW have Arthur Price managed to update their 'timeless' design? Is the new design also 'timeless'? Does time really matter when one is in possession of an Arthur Price fork? Answers on the back of a £20.00 note please.. Of course, none of this was a reflection on the quality of service provided by Harts of Stur. Which was timely, efficient and included packaging of Amazon standards ( a lot for just one fork). Delivery was not as fast as Amazon standards but I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Harts of Stur are much much nicer to their staff. So. Would I buy more cutlery from Harts of Stur? Absolutely. But not their Arthur Price 'Bead' design table knives...because bizarrely, whilst their forks were the cheapest on the internet, the knives were definitely not...that said, ten minutes is a long time on the internet and the prices may have changed again by now...even Arthur Price cutlery prices...which are reassuringly expensive. And the moral of this review? Don't gnaw the ends of your posh cutlery....or lose it.
