Brita's history began in 1966 Germany, with an idea of optimising mains water in a simple and convenient way, these first products were hand made in the founders Heinz Hankammer's garden. The filter cartridges consists of a super fine mesh, a natural microcarbon from coconut shells, powerful ion-exchange pearls and a high performance mesh to reduce chlorine, impurities, lead and copper in the water. Brita has created a sustainable alternative to bottle water which produces freshly filtered water that not only has a fuller flavour creating better tasting hot and cold drinks but also helps reduce the build up of limescale within your kettle and coffee machine giving them a longer life.
