Solis Teppanyaki At Home
Bring the art of Teppanyaki to your home,
The word teppanyaki simply describes the way that food is cooked. ‘Teppan’ means iron plate, and ‘yaki’ means grilled - so teppanyaki is food that is cooked on a hot grill plate. Teppanyaki dining now also has a considerable focus on the entertainment and performance aspect, with Teppanyaki chefs expected to perform a number of tricks whilst preparing food. All manner of food can be cooked teppanyaki-style, including meat, vegetables, fried rice, and noodles.
You can easily grill meat and vegetables at the same time, on different heats by using the individual temperature controls for the left and right sides of the grill. This allows you to cook ingredients at their optimum temperature, without burning a thing! It also lets you keep cooked food warm on one side, whilst cooking other ingredients on the other.
The grill plate has a stainless steel surface, which means it heats up quickly and provides an even heat distribution to prevent hotspots from occurring. The tough surface is safe for use with the metal spatulas that are also supplied as it will not scratch.
Each heating zone has an individual thermostat to make it really easy to control the temperature. Each heating element has 1000W output, meaning a combined maximum heat output of 2000W.
There is a drip groove round the outside to collect oil, grease and fat, which run off into the fat collection drawer. Once you have finished cooking, simply use the spatulas to direct any excess fat into the drawer. No harsh chemicals are required for cleaning, and Solis recommend simply pouring some lemon juice over surface whilst still warm (not hot!)
