We are an independent, family business who have been trading now for 100 years. Our current Managing Director, Philip Hart, is the grandson of Walter Hart, who originally set up as a blacksmith on the very site in Sturminster Newton that our store still occupies today. Our heritage as a family business is important to us and is a constant drive for us to improve even further.

Free, Fast Delivery
We endeavour to pick, pack and dispatch all orders placed before midday on the same day. We offer free next working day delivery to UK mainland addresses on all orders over £50. You can find more details on our delivery information page.
We try to reduce our environmental impact wherever possible. We reuse cardboard boxes where we are able to do so, and our packing filler is an eco-friendly, biodegradable 'green-fill'. This can be reused, composted, or dissolved down the sink - how many retailers can say that?
We take great care when packing all parcels to ensure that they reach you in perfect condition. With the exception of a few items which are shipped direct from the manufacturer, all products ordered direct from our website are dispatched from our warehouse on-site. We don't employ any third party fulfillment services, meaning we can maintain our quality control levels to the highest standards.
In addition to our standard next working day delivery service, we have a range of options available to make delivery work better for you. These options include;
- next day AM delivery; to get your parcel before midday the next working day.
- specified date delivery; pick a day that works best for you
- DPD click & collect; have your parcel delivered to a local DPD pickup point, for you to collect at a time that suits you.
