Ooni Karu ovens have been designed to work with hardwood kindling, and charcoal, even gas - if the additional accessory for the right oven has been purchased. The perfect cooking experience is balancing airflow with fuel levels, the hardwood pellets are too small to use with multi-fuel ovens such as Karu, as they will block the holes in the grate, restrict the airflow and reduce the top temperature.
